King Curtis

King Curtis was everybody’s session musician before his untimely death. This is a collection/sample of his work and it should be commercial free because it is YouTube Premium stuff.

King Curtis played on thousands of records as the most in demand saxophone player, from the early 1950s until his death in August of 1971. He worked with a wide variety of artists ranging from The Coasters and Buddy Holly, to Jimi Hendrix and John Lennon.

King Curtis began playing the saxophone at a young age in Fort Worth, Texas.

...an American saxophonist known for rhythm and blues, rock and roll, soul, blues, funk and soul jazz. Variously a bandleader, band member, and session musician, he was also a musical director and record producer.
